Teon Monet

One day, she decided to turn her pain into poetry and bright colors.

 

Teon “Monet” is a creator who uses creativity as a pathway to healing. As an advocate for Black communities and dismantling oppressive systems, she is deeply committed to ending intergenerational cycles of poverty, abuse, and trauma. 

By sharing her story and artwork, she hopes to inspire other individuals to uncover the roots of their pain and unlearn the narratives that have hindered their ability to become the person God intended them to be. 

Her long-term goal is to transform Black Butterflies into a program that serves young children with parents who have a substance abuse disorder.
